Guide to Dunkirk
Situated in northern France and only 6.2 miles (10km) from the Belgium border, Dunkirk is a popular short ferry journey into France.
Attractions in Dunkirk include the Carnival, the Musée Portuaire that exhibits images about the history and presence of the port. The Musée des Beaux-Arts is another popular attraction for tourists, hosting a collection of Flemish, Italian and French paintings and sculptures.
One of the best known dishes in Dunkirk is the coq à la bière – chicken in a creamy beer sauce.
